What is Key Club?
"CARING; OUR WAY OF LIFE."
Key Club Motto
HISTORY
In the 1920s, many high school delinquent groups were emerging within the Sacramento area and spreading negative influence. The Kiwanis Clubs wanted to combat this problem and provide a healthy environment for students to grow and learn in. In May 1925, a Jr. Kiwanis Club was chartered at Sacramento High School to promote wholesome youth activities. The name "Key Club" was later adopted because the members were recognized as the “key” students of the school as well as the acronym "Kiwanis Educating Youth" that later came to be.
